In the spring of 2015, M.S.A.D. 52 participated in an energy efficient lighting upgrade performed by EMC under a large comprehensive energy project with Siemens Building Technologies.

Each project included the updates to both interior and exterior areas which consisted of existing inefficient HID, T12 and incandescent technology along with standard CFL, T5 and T8 technology. EMC proposed and implemented the switch to energy saving T8 lamps and high efficiency LED fixtures. Nearly 6,000 conversions were completed over the course of 5 months.

Additionally, EMC installed dry contacts with occupancy sensors for air quality and flow.

Close to $450,000 in incentive dollars were applied, equating to almost half of the total project cost.

M.S.A.D. 52 is now saving close to 400,000 kWh per year which is a substantial savings on their electric bills. On top of these savings, the environmental impact calculations are significant. Reductions in environmental factors and carbon foot prints is huge.
